3 way manual ball valve

Jan 30, 2026 Lăsaţi un mesaj

A manual three-way ball valve is a type of valve that controls the flow of fluid through manual operation (such as a handle, handwheel or lever). Its core structure is a three-way ball design, which enables the diversion, confluence or direction change of the fluid.

The GNEE Group has been manufacturing manual ball valves for 18 years and offers valve selection consultation and customization services. Export-Ready Valves – Request Pricing Today!‌

3 way manual ball valve Core structure and working principle

Three-way ball design
Inside the sphere, there are three channels (in the L-shaped or T-shaped configuration). By rotating the sphere, the connection relationships between these channels can be changed.
L-shaped three-way valve: Enables the fluid to switch from one line to another (such as A→B or A→C).
T-type three-way valve: It can achieve diversion (A→B+C) or confluence (B+C→A), and is suitable for scenarios of mixing or distribution.

Use soft seals (such as PTFE or rubber) or metal hard seals to ensure the sealing performance between the valve seat and the ball.
Soft seals are suitable for low temperature, low pressure and non-corrosive media; metal seals are suitable for high temperature, high pressure or abrasive media.

By manually rotating the sphere through the handle, handwheel or lever, usually a 90℃ rotation is sufficient to complete the switch or flow direction change.

3 way manual ball valve Main features

The spherical channels have the same diameter as the pipes, and the fluid flows through them with extremely low resistance and low energy consumption.

The self-cleaning design of the sealing surface and the spherical surface reduces residual media and lowers the risk of leakage.

The ball and valve seat have minimal wear, and especially the metal-sealed valve can withstand high pressure and high temperature.

The manual operation is simple and does not require an additional power source. It is suitable for emergency control or scenarios involving frequent switching.

The valve body can be made of stainless steel, PVC, brass, etc., which is suitable for different medium environments.

3 way manual ball valve Application scenario

Chemical Engineering: Controlling the flow of corrosive media, such as the transportation of acid and alkali solutions.
Petroleum and natural gas: Switching between oil and gas pipelines, or used for auxiliary systems such as sampling and purging.
Water treatment: Adjust the flow direction, such as for the discharge of concentrated water in reverse osmosis systems.

HVAC: Switching the water flow paths of the heating or cooling systems.
Fire protection system: Controls the diversion or convergence of fire water.
Food and medicine: Used for sanitary pipelines, such as for switching the cleaning solution in beverage production lines.

3 way manual ball valve Selection criteria

Corrosive media should be handled with stainless steel or PVC materials; for high-temperature media, metal-sealed valves should be selected.

Confirm the rated pressure of the valve (such as PN16, PN25) and the temperature range (such as -20℃ to 200℃).

The type of connection (flange connection, thread connection or welding connection) is selected based on the pipeline.

Clearly determine whether to implement a diversion (T-shaped) or a switch in flow (L-shaped).

For frequent operation scenarios, it is recommended to choose metal-sealed valves with better wear resistance.

3 way manual ball valve Maintenance and Fault Handling

Check if the handle/wheel is loose and whether there is any leakage at the sealing surface.

Apply lubricating grease to the metal parts to reduce wear and tear.

Leakage: Check if the sealing surface is worn or if there are foreign objects stuck. If necessary, replace the sealing component.
Operation lag: Remove impurities from the valve chamber and check if the ball has deformed.
